Homann, Johann Baptiste. Virginia Marylandia et Carolina

Nuremburg, mid-18th century, copperplate engraving with hand color, depicts the East Coast between New York and the Carolinas; the elaborate cartouche suggests that riches are to be had in American trade and agriculture. Laid to a board by its edges and presented in a light coppertone wooden frame.
