Wool, 20th c., comprised of rows of weft-wrapping technique using various earth-tone yarns to form a geometric design with multiple sections of diamonds and latticework, back lined with linen, accompanied by hanging dowel which fits in upper edge sleeve, signed and titled to verso: "Sandra Miller Milroy."

Sandy Milroy grew up in Kansas, where she found inspiration in the landscape and in paper cutting and collage. Sandy studied art history at Wellesley College, apprenticing at Harvard’s Fogg Art Museum. She studied textiles at Penland, Arrowmont, and Haystack. She has taught classes at the Durham Arts Council in Durham, NC, and exhibited her tapestries widely in the southeast. She has lived in Zambia, Scotland, and England, finding inspiration in textiles from all over the world. She now makes her home in North Carolina, where she works as a mixed media artist.

Large stain to backing (doesn't come through to front) and scattered small stains, one small section of fraying and slight yarn loss to lower center, scattered light fraying, mild fading.
