Keith Rose was a self-taught artist based in Greensboro, North Carolina. At the age of 55, he retired as a chemist and began to paint full-time. One of his greatest advocates was Mary Jo Bell, founder of the Garden Gallery in Raleigh. This watercolor was painted by Rose while he was staying with the Bells at their home in Atlantic Beach.
