Oil on canvas (lined), unsigned, inscribed to verso of stretcher, presented in an ornate giltwood frame.

Mary Grammer was born in 1690 in York, England. She married John Grammer of Pledwich County and was the daughter of George Beaumont of Chapellthorpe. She passed away in 1738 and is buried in St Michael le Belfrey Churchyard.

The canvas has an old lining, age cracking and retouching visible under UV light inspection.
