Watercolor on ivory, unsigned, the first depicting a blue-eyed gentleman seated in red upholstered armchair holding spectacles, with inkstand nearby and postmarked envelope inscribed "Ralph Ri.../ Sydenham" (Miniature 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 in.); the second of a female attired in sienna dress with lacework collar, blue coat and hat, on a warm sienna toned ground (6 x 4 3/4 in.). Both presented behind glass in later matching ebonized frames.
