Manner of Charles Fraser (American, 1782-1860), circa 1810, watercolor on ivory, unsigned, the paper verso inscribed "For Hillary / M G Vincent," well-rendered gentleman seated and attired in black tie on a high collared shirt, cream waistcoat beneath an umber double-breasted overcoat, set against an ochre ground with red curtain, presented in an ebonized wood frame with ormolu bezel and floral hanger.

Miniature 3 7/8 x 3 in.; frame 6 7/8 x 5 3/4 in.

The upper collar with small area of paint loss; some light warping to ivory; wear to frame, with later nails to hanger.
