Late 18th-early 19th century, the first of a lady wearing a lace bonnet and peacock blue and lacework dress, signed "C. Böhmen" to left edge, wood backing interior illegibly inscribed in pencil; the second of a gentleman attired in burgundy coat, cravat, ruffled chemise and waistcoat, the paper verso with worn ink inscription and name of "Louis Goldscha..," each painted on steel blue ground, presented behind glass within similar ebonized frames.

Miniatures 2 1/4 x 1 3/4 in.; frames 5 3/4 x 4 1/4 in.

Some surface marks to gentleman's portrait, possibly water stains; crackle and wear to frame finish.
