A Large Chatsworth Castle Reproduction Tulipiere
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
20th-century reproduction of the 17th-century original from the collection of Chatsworth Castle, likely made in Italy, a seven-piece tiered blue and white pottery form, consisting of a base, supported by four paw on ball feet, with allegorical scenes of Religio, Justicia, Aqua, and Ignis at each side, topped by six tiers of square flower holders with a spout on every corner, most pieces numbered "13", the bottom tier marked, resembling a similar form produced by Mottahedeh.

34 1/2 in.

Private Collection, Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Allover fine crazing, the first tier does not sit flush in the base, with a very slight wobble, some light scattered glaze flakes, one tier with glue repair to spout.
