Private North Carolina Collection

This large volume focuses on the Batavian Revolt, an uprising against the Roman Empire in 69-70CE.

Boards scratched and scuffed with edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed; spine rubbed with chipped tail and label, loose headband, and leather loss and pealing at head, cracking and rubbing at joints; possibly lacking a front and rear endpaper, writing on title and front paste-down, light hinge cracking yet still very sturdy; pages with scattered foxing, expected offsetting from plates, very light toning with heavier toning at edges, and occasional small area of grime/soiling, crease/fold, and frayed edge; several plates with some spotting and faint damp staining, one map with frequent damp staining/spotting from colorist, one map with small tear and associated repair on verso, heavier foxing on final maps; a very good copy with most pages extremely crisp and unmarked.
