Han dynasty style, green glazed earthenware sculpture of a dog, wearing collar with tassels or bells, mouth open with teeth and tongue exposed, ears up in alertness, curled tail at back, playful and cute; dogs were popular sculptures to include in tombs during the Han and Tang dynasty for their owners since they provided the deceased with protection in the afterlife as well as loyal companionship.
