Born in Ukraine, Blahove studied at the Academia Vicente Puig, Buenos Aires, and at the National Academy of Design in New York City. He was was a noted portrait artist whose paintings appear in the National Collection of Fine Arts and Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.; Navy Combat Art Collection, Washington, D.C.; Weatherspoon Art Gallery, University of North Carolina, Greensboro; Southampton College, Long Island University, New York; and at the Salmagundi Club, New York, where he was a member.
