Julian Moreau [pseud.]. THE BLACK COMMANDOS. Atlanta: The Cultural Institute Press, 1967. First edition. Hardcover. Black cloth-covered boards, stamped in gilt. 12mo; [4], 228pp.
7 1/4 x 4 3/4 in.
This novel was written by Dr. Joseph Denis Jackson under the pseudonym Julian Moreau. A reverend and psychiatrist with numerous higher degrees, Jackson wrote this scarce title set in the South with a main character named after himself. After what was likely a small original print run in Atlanta, a French edition was published in 1968, and a second edition was published with the help of the author's son in 2013.
Boards lightly scuffed with all corners mildly rubbed, small tear in cloth at joint, faint stains at fore-edge and top edge; extremely faint grime on free endpaper and negligible tear at rear paste-down, otherwise a fine interior; lacking jacket with the exception of a portion of the back of the dj with a statement by the author.
