Copperplate engraving with outline color and hand-colored cartouche; presenting British North America during the French and Indian War from James Bay to the Gulf of Mexico; with early boundary lines, large blocks of text in German, and place names in English; cartouche with full title America Septentrionalis a Domino d'Anville in Galliis edita nunc in Anglia Coloniis in INTERIOREM VIRGINIAM deductis nec non Fluvii Ohio cursu.... Presented behind a mat with wooden black and gilt frame.

With prominent center vertical and horizontal creases and some additional creasing, small areas of separation and browning at vertical crease, an area of vertical staining and a central wormhole, spotting in cartouche, and toning and foxing; mat with toning and scattered foxing and grime, light wear to frame; not examined out of frame; a fair to good copy of this important and scarce map.
