Harrison Hall. HALL'S DISTILLER...ADAPTED TO THE USE OF FARMERS, AS WELL AS DISTILLERS. Philadelphia: John Bioren, 1813. Full period leather with gilt ruling and gilt-stamped red morocco label on the spine. 8vo; [i-ii], iii-x, [1]-244pp. With folding frontispiece, one engraved plate, and final page with errata and "To the Reader" in which the author apologizes for errors in the printing and the quality of paper as a result of his absence. Discusses stills, profits, directions for making yeast, and much more, and includes a variety of recipes for drinks such as cider, wine, and beer. Shaw & Shoemaker 28693. (Leather scuffed with cracking to upper board, edges and corners rubbed; spine with creasing, scuffing, and chipping, joints rubbed with one wormhole and small area with cracking starting; endpapers worn with tears, a small loss, staining, writing, previous owner's signature and stamp, bookseller sticker on front paste-down, lacking final rear endpaper; a very good frontispiece with only light wear; mark at fore-edge; pages toned and foxed with occasional writing, grime, and lightly frayed edge; frequent damp staining as is common, including on plate.)

(Original leather chipped, rubbed, and textured, with edgewear and rubbed corners, label slightly chipped; hinges reinforced, ownership signature on front endpaper, lacking one front and rear endpaper(?), title page with small corner chip; bright and crisp pages overall with occasional very light toning and foxing (heavier at endpapers), several quires with damp staining at lower margin and corner resulting from fore-edge stain, and occasional grime, small stain, minor edge tear, or ink mark; a very good and sturdy copy yet lacking plate.)
