Boards with typical age wear including some scuffs, small stains, and marks to leather, with light edgewear, spines and corners lightly rubbed, joints mildly creased, (3) with cracking starting, vol. 10 with cracking at head of rear joint, vol. 1 with repair at joints(?); several volumes with mild hinge cracking, vol. 5 with more significant cracking at rear hinge yet still sturdy; many title pages with top corner cut, vol. 1 with old catalogue description pasted to rear endpaper, one leaf in vol. 3 with tear at margin, (2) vols. with minor damp stains, vol. 10 first free endpaper partially detached, vol. 1 and 8 lacking front free endpaper; interiors overall extremely clean and bright with toning at edges, light scattered foxing, occasional ink mark or small stain, expected offsetting from plates; a very good set.
