Early 20th century, to include: possibly a Wiyot food basket (5 1/2 in.) (fair condition with tears); an unidentified basket (loses to rim wrappings) (4 1/2 in.); a Hopi plaque and a possible Navajo basket (together 5-1/4 x 12 in.).

From the family collection of Indian Agent Charles Edwin Kelsey (1861-1936). Kelsey was highly regarded for having "...written extensively and eloquently on the practical and moral obligation of the government to redress the atrocious wrongs suffered by California Indians."
