Boards worn and scuffed, with edgewear including small loss to edge of lower board, spine quite worn with burned tail, chips and small losses to leather, wear to headband, and joints cracked with likely old repairs, still overall quite sturdy; bookplate on front paste-down, repair at inner margin of first free endpaper, small damp stain at rear free endpaper, ownership signature on frontispiece recto; pages with light toning, scattered foxing concentrated at endpapers and preliminaries, offsetting, and occasional tear at lower margin, small area of grime/staining, and frayed edge; one leaf with larger area of grime, pgs. 195-202 with damp staining at upper margin.
