Circa 1820s, watercolor on ivory, unsigned, the first of a young man attired in dark jacket and yellow waistcoat, high collar shirt with black stock and jeweled pin, holding a telescope against a sky filled ground, presented within a copper pendant (3 3/4 x 3 in.); the second of a distinguished gent in black jacket and white waistcoat, high collar white shirt with black stock, seated and holding a maritime navigational instrument, presented within an ebonized frame with ormolu mounts (3 3/8 x 2 3/4 in.).

Good estate condition; larger with some warping to perimeter of wafer, foxing to paper backing, and restoration to frame.
