Late 19th century, watercolor on ivory, likely after a portrait of Adélaide d'Orléans circa 1838 by Marie Amélie Cogniet (French 1798-1869), the beauty seated before a drawn curtain pulled back to reveal a verdant landscape, mounted within an oval brass bezel with blush velvet backing.
Miniature 3 3/8 x 2 5/8 in.; frame 6 x 5 1/4 in.
