Late 18th-early 19th century, watercolor on ivory, the first of a erudite gentleman with quill pen in hand, seated before his library study, presented within an ebonized frame with ormolu bezel and hanger (Miniature 3 1/2 x 2 7/8 in.); the second a young gent with blue eyes, attired in blue coat and tied cravat, presented in a gilt tondo frame with fancy monogram painted on ivory to verso.

Small hairline to upper left of miniature of man with quill; gilt frame missing some side pins, with associated removable tape for stability.
