Ellen Zahorec was raised in a devout Byzantine Catholic family in Ohio. She later received her BFA in Art and Craft from Kent State University and her MFA in Fine Art and Fine Craft at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Ellen lived in Brevard, North Carolina in the 1980s and 1990s and worked with paper forms and cloth. She now lives in Florida.
