Edo period (1615-1868), ink and colors on paper, a very interesting and unusual painting showing a draft of the subject and instructional notes on sections of the finished hawk, wonderful details to the bird, very finely painted, signed to lower right together with artist's red seal, framed under glass in with silk mat in a gilt silver frame.

Good estate condition; some light horizontal creases; light overall toning to paper; not examined outside of the frame.
