Each a glazed ceramic, the larger with burnt sienna and beige colored glaze (5 5/8 x 13 3/4 in. dia.); the smaller vessel a heart form with a plum glaze to the body and beige rim (4 1/2 x 10 1/2 in. dia.); both unsigned.

Laura Andreson earned her Masters of Fine Art in painting from Columbia University, New York. She started the ceramics program at UCLA, and taught there for forty years, continuing to experiment and create after retirement.

As an educator, she had a profound influence on more than 5000 students. In 1982, the Mingei International Museum in San Diego held an exhibition of her work, representing fifty years of her career, with a documentary publication, Laura Andreson: A Retrospective in Clay. Her works are in the collections of numerous museums in the United States and abroad. A significant collection of her work is in the permanent collections of the Utah State University Museum, Logan, Utah.
