Ike Merrill Gallop decoys reflect the classic southern Currituck Sound style. Since they were made before the turn of the century, they were mostly small redheads and canvasbacks. The sloping tail is a trademark of the southern Currituck carvers of this era.

Original paint with moderate gunning wear, vertical and horizontal stable cracks in neck, hit by shot.
