Some of the famous Swan Island Club decoys by Sam Smith landed in North Carolina in November of 1870 . A group of NY sportsmen were aboard the sailing yacht "Anonyona" when it ran aground beside Swan Island during a severe storm. The Swan Island Club was formed at this site.
J. Olney Norris was a member from 1895 until his death in 1912. Bradley W. Palmer became a member in 1913 and became the caretaker of this pair.

Old gunning paint, each with neck cracks with some movement but stable, tight age checks in the bodies.
