Ann Wåhlström (Swedish, b. 1957), Memphis Art Glass Lamp
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Circa 1980, blown multi color glass with applied cased yellow glass balls, signed to the glass base at underside.

24.5 in.

Swedish artist and designer Ann Wåhlström has a background as both a glassblower and a designer. She studied glassblowing at the Glass School in Orrefors and in the United States, where she initially came in contact with studio glass at the Pilchuck School. Combining the traditional training in Sweden and the experimental approach to glass in the US gave her the best of two worlds. Wåhlström then went on to attend the Konstfack School of Art and Design in Stockholm and Rhode Island School of design in Providence, United States. In the late 1980s she was 'discovered' by Kosta Boda, where she designed glass for the next 20 years.

Several glass balls detached and/or re-glued.
