Anthony Quinn was an artist and actor, known for his work on stage and in films but also as a painter sculptor, and printmaker. He was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and his family moved to Los Angeles at a young age during the civil unrest of the Mexican Revolution.

The Great Spirit collection is a compendium of texts on North American Indian religious creeds, tenets, cults, and symbols personally illustrated with lithographs reproduced from original drawings and paintings by Anthony Quinn.
