Purchased from Wallace Freeman on June 12, 2011. Freeman was a member of the Carteret Rod and Gun Club. He found these shorebirds in the sail loft of the old decoy shed of the club in the 1960s.

Alton Taylor made these silhouette beach robins in the 1940s. They became the model for other shorebird hunters to copy in Carteret County. He made them out of .25 in marine grade plywood that was used in the boat building business during World War II.
