Takahashi Hiroaki, widely known as Shotei, was a prolific Japanese artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, celebrated for his exquisite woodblock prints depicting landscapes, birds, and scenes of daily life. Born in Tokyo in 1871, Shotei studied under the renowned woodblock artist Kiyohara Yukinobu, honing his skills in traditional Japanese art techniques. His works, characterized by meticulous detail, subtle use of color and serene atmospheric settings, were popular both domestically and internationally.
