Joseph Crilley attended the Philadelphia College of Art and was a member of the Fleisher Memorial Sketch Club, Philadelphia. He taught art at the New Hope-Solebury High School before becoming a successful painter, photographer, and writer.

Crilley exhibited at the National Academy of Design, Audubon Artists, Salmagundi Club, National Arts Club, the Pennsylvania Museum of art, and numerous others.

Good estate condition.
