Edo or Meiji period, 19th century, porcelain with underglaze blue, Arita ware, shaped dish hand painted with the twelve Asian zodiac animals encircling the rim, the center with a three arm Buddhist cloud with border of Bagua symbols, eight symbols used in Taoism to represent the core principles of reality, exterior sides with double coin and flower motifs, underside with apocryphal six-character Chenghua mark.
