Qianlong period (1736-95), includes a porcelain dish hand painted with the coat of arms of the Barton family of Lancashire, and a tea bowl hand painted with the a coat of arms of two families impaling topped by a hand holding a sword, the interior decoration with floral garlands around the rim.

The dish 8 1/2 in. diameter; The bowl 2 5/8 x 5 1/2 in. diameter

Private Collection, Virginia Beach, Virginia Collected by the consignor and her husband with the guidance of David Sanctuary Howard, who literally wrote the book on Chinese Armorial porcelain. The couple began collecting during the 1970s from galleries and auction houses across Europe and the United States, and even from Howard himself. This collection is a very special offering of some rare and wonderful pieces collected over a lifetime with great care and passion.

The dish with restoration to the rim; the tea bowl with hairline visible under UV light inspection and minor rubbing to the rim.
