After 1926, having slightly rounded rims with applied lug handles, a marked "2" gallon alkaline glazed jar (13 in.) (handle chip; tight hairline to the underside; inside rim chip), the second jar has an Albany slip glaze with scratch mark "4" (15 1/2 in.) (good condition), both jars are heavy with rutile, not signed.
Single-Owner Southern Pottery, Private Collection Poley was a journeyman, who worked for the Reinhardt Brothers and Luther Ritche. He began making his own pottery in 1926, and did so until his shop was destroyed in 1956.
