Marvin was born in Rodanthe and later served at the Kill Devil Hills Coast Guard Station. It was there that he met Manie Haywood. They carved some of the finest canvas over wire decoys to ever come from North Carolina. A rigmate is published on page 315 of Gunnin' Birds by Kroghie Andresen.
