Meiji period (1868-1912), cloisonne vases with long necks and bulbous bodies decorated in colorful enamels with phoenixes and dragons, symbols of the emperor and empress in China and motifs of longevity and prosperity in Japan, presented together with carved wooden stands.

Vase 7 1/2 in., with stand 8 1/4 in.
