19th century, includes a quatrefoil shaped cricket box and a ginger jar with cover, both are hand painted in a famille rose palette with figures at leisure on and play on an outdoor garden terrace, jar has iron red bats to reverse side, cover painted with Chinese children and topped with a pointed finial, the jar comes together with a carved wooden stand.
Jar with cover 9 1/2 in., with stand 11 in.; Cricket box 1 1/2 x 4 3/4 x 2 3/4 in.
Private Collection, North Carolina Jar has some slight nicks to cover rim and a small area of loss near center; interior rim of jar with a short hairline; some rubbing with loss to a few figures on the jar; the cricket box has two very minor kiln firing flaws to the foot rim.
