Eastern Shore Virginia, before 1900, carved and painted wood, published plate 136 of Shorebird Decoys by Henry Fleckenstein, Jr.

Length 11 in.

Raised V wing relief carving often found from the Doughty family on Hog Island, Wallops Island Gun Club.

Most of the paint is worn to bare wood, lightly hit by shot, age check in the back of the head, bill is an old replacement. Photography stand does not convey.
