Boards with scuffing and rubbing, edgewear, and rubbed corners, with occasional staining to leather; spines with creasing and light rubbing at ends, joints with light rubbing and creasing, with occasional small wormhole; bookplate of James Whitehead on front paste-downs, most volumes with some cracking or small area of insect damage at hinges with volumes still sturdy; interiors with slight toning and very light occasional foxing (heavier on endpapers and in a couple of volumes, especially in Roughing It), and rare pencil mark, offsetting, spot of grime, or small tear; Huckleberry Finn additionally with some creasing to frontispiece, a few small corner folds, and minor damp stain on tissue guard.
