A Framed Japanese Narrative Handscroll

Edo period (1615-1868), ink, colors, and gold maki-e on paper, a narrative painting with scenes divided gold sprinkled clouds, originally in handscroll (emakimono) format, now cut and presented in three gilt faux bamboo frames under glass.

Frame dimensions 14 x 23 1/2 in.

Handscroll has been cut and mounted in three frames; toning to paper; one with some scattered stains; good color; not examined outside of the frames; one glass has crack; frames with wear.
