Lot Details & Additional Photographs
This collection consists of Roman coinage dating from the first to fifth centuries A.D. Most of the important emperors are represented here. Germanicus, the adopted son of Claudius and father of Caligula, is present however he is the only extended member of the imperial family to make an appearance in this collection. There are no coins here that show short-lived rulers or the empire's tedious parade of inconsequential pretenders. Two pages listing the rulers in this collection are with the photographs and are likewise able to be enlarged.
The coins are stored together in a faux burlwood lidded box.
The coins vary in condition from Fair to Extremely Fine, with most of the material being VG-Fine. A good collection that amply shows how Roman coinage changed though time.
