Cogswell & Harrison, founded in 1770, is one of the oldest British gunmaking firms, renowned for its fine shotguns. The company began in London and became known for innovation, introducing the "Certus" self-cocking hammerless gun in 1893. Throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, Cogswell & Harrison produced high-quality sporting shotguns, favored by both the aristocracy and sportsmen. Despite facing financial difficulties and changing ownership in the 20th century, the brand has endured, continuing to offer bespoke, hand-crafted shotguns that maintain its reputation for craftsmanship and quality.
