Late 19th or early 20th century, each large Mother of Pearl shell is lifted upwards upon three sterling silver bamboo stalks and attached to shell with silver butterflies at top, silver base has a small young bamboo tree sprouting in the center of the three stalks, each set into the original identical carved wood stands.
DOA 10 1/4 x 9 1/2 x 8 in.
From the collection of Thomas English Cody (1889-1948), the great nephew of Buffalo Bill Cody, and by family descent. Very good estate condition; some minor nicks to the shell rim and small loss at point of one.
