France, late 19th century, centering a 4 1/2 inch round dial with enamel cartouche Roman chapters, the brass works signed with Samuel Marti et Cie medallion pastille and stamped "15009 / E.B / 72," suspension spring movement striking on the hour and half-hour, within an architectural gilt bronze case with satyr head and lion mascaron decoration, four waisted columnar feet flanked by butterfly caryatids over paw feet.
