Operating primarily from the late 20th century onwards, McNair has gained acclaim for his detailed and lifelike decoys, which are often characterized by their realism and intricate paintwork. His work reflects a deep understanding of waterfowl anatomy and behavior, making his decoys not only functional for hunting but also prized by collectors for their artistic value. This example has attractive scratch feathering on the back. This is an early example by the maker.
