Made in France, early 20th century, a rectangular form constructed of unpainted black canvas with brown leather trim, wooden battens, metal fasteners and corner guards, black leather side handles. The central hasp lock is stamped GOYARD. The lid opens to a linen lined interior lacking the shelf. The trunk retains its exterior Malles Goyard decal. It has been set into a custom black painted stand.
DOA 20 x 43 x 23 in. Trunk only 12 x 39 1/2 x 21 1/2 in.
From the Collection of Carolyn Shaw, Pinehurst, North Carolina Expected travel wear to exterior surfaces; wrinkles to the canvas; interior has loose quilting; areas of raised linen at the edges; stains and soiling. Stand has paint chips.
