19th century, Italian or French, seven part form, upper deep ogee molded cornice set on a tapered Mansard hood with relief carved central dragon and acanthus leaf panel, relief carved fleur-de-lis surround set on a vertically veneered mantel shelf with carved acanthus leaf molding, set on supports with arched cartouche having fully carved figures to the interior set on molded panel bases.

Later dust board to top (not visible from the ground); later trim where mansard panel and mantel shelf meet; area of finish inconsistency to left front panel of fleur-de-lis panel; overall good presentation and attractive mellow patina.
