Circa 1880, later striped cream upholstery, scrolled crest rail, relief carved scroll and acanthus leaf stiles, relief carved acanthus leaf lower back splat, rounded front seat frame with front cabriole legs having acanthus carved knees on paw feet, turned stretcher base, rear tapered down-swept legs, unmarked.

37.5 x 19 x 18.5 in. seat height 19 in.

A labeled example of this set surfaced to market this year; however, it is often attributed to R.J. Horner, of which it rivals in carved details and craftsmanship.

Later upholstery with staining and coil support seat; one chair missing central stretcher; expected scuffs to the paw feet.
