Edy Legrand (France, 1892-1970), born Edward Louis Warschawsky Leon in Bordeaux, lived much of his adult life in Morocco. He worked as an illustrator for numerous publishing houses in both France and New York, and as a well-known painter later in his career. Macao et Cosmage offered early contributions to the Art Deco style. Jean Saudé (1872-1931), who also contributed to this book, was a French printmaker who excelled at the use of pochoir.

Wraps quite worn as is common for this title, with losses and tears at spine, wraps with toning, creasing, fading, scuffs, minor grime, edgewear, and small marks and damp stains; wraps separating from text block with leaves loose; front paste-down pealing from card cover at corner; interior with occasional mark, stain, and grime, toned and frayed edges, and expected offsetting, one leaf with small tear; bookstore sticker on final page, and an extra back card cover laid in loose; illustrations remain extremely bright.
