Original blind- and gilt-stamped red cloth with gilt edges. 8vo; [viii], 166, [2]pp. With half-title, color frontispiece, title with red border, preface, contents page, and final (2) pages of advertisements for Dickens's works. With b&w illustrations throughout and (4) color plates including frontis. (Boards with heavy edgewear, light scuffing, and rubbed corners, upper board with small stains, discoloration to spine and board edge, and spine with rubbing to tail and loss at head; light worming and cracking at joints, and cracking at front hinge and gutter at tail; lacking front endpaper, paste-downs with minor damp staining at edges and bookseller sticker at rear, half-title with ghost writing, edge chipping to preliminaries; pages lightly toned with minimal foxing and occasional light grime, heavier toning and foxing to half-title and last (3) pages; a good copy.)

(Spine cocked and darkened with small chips and losses at ends, boards with bumped and lightly rubbed corners, damp staining on lower board, spine, and endpapers; cracking at rear hinge and occasional gutter cracking; half-title torn, pages with light toning and occasional grime; a good copy.)
