Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Fifty-eight (58) coins are housed in a somewhat unusual plastic album having small capsules for each coin. Coins lacking include the 1856 Flying Eagle cent, the 1864L Indian and the 1869/8 variety. The 1877 key has the hallmarks of genuine coins in that the denticles on the reverse continue to the edge, the date is rendered correctly, and the "N" on the reverse has thin supporting vertical lines. The "S" on the 1909-S cent appears to be proper despite an area of solder or glue on the reverse. Most of the coins have original surfaces, however two Flying Eagle cents and five of the Indian cents appear to have been cleaned.
